Be Here Nowra is a community project documenting how meditation can improve the happiness of the individual and a whole town. Our goal is to improve the collective happiness of the town we love through meditation.

Research suggests if you can get 1% of a population to regularly meditate, it can have a seismic effect throughout the whole community. This is known as the "super radiance effect". We believe to effect change we must raise the consciousness of the individual and the benefits will flow to the community. 

There are many types of meditation, we teach Vedic Meditation which is an ancient technique originating in India and now taught all over the world. It is known as a self-transcendent technique. When you learn Vedic Meditation you are given a personalised mantra and the procedure how to use it properly.

Courses are taught by qualified Vedic Meditation Initiator Barron Hanson. Courses are run over four sessions of 60 to 90 minutes each on consecutive days.
We have mid-week and weekend courses available. We teach out of our studio location in Nowra CBD.

We produce over 400 specialty chemicals including various detergents, cleaning products and disinfectants that can also be customised to suit your needs.

Tim is an accredited Clinical Member of the governing body CAPA (Counsellors & Psychotherapists Association) and a trained mediator. Central to Tim’s work is the belief that functional relationships are vital to health and happiness. Tim is a Clinical Psychotherapist registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia ( PACFA). He has 30 years experience in these fields.

Tim spent twenty years with Lifeline as a personal/relationship and telephone counsellor. He was a trainer of Lifeline counsellors and a group leader. He has designed and facilitated long-running anger management groups. Tim is a Mediator trained by the Australian Commercial Disputes Centre (ACDC) and an approved allied health practitioner for SIRA (State Insurance Regulatory Authority / Workcover).

He is a founder member of the Shoalhaven Allied Health Network and is on the Committee of the Shoalhaven Professional Business Association. Tim has a private practice based in Jaspers Brush.

The team at Medicine in Motion Health Group are dedicated Allied Health Professionals located on the NSW South Coast who endeavour to promote exercise as medicine in the treatment and prevention of injury, persisting pain and chronic disease. We aim to educate our clients on the health benefits of exercise, motivate our clients to make good health choices and instil life-long changes in health behaviour.

We have a number of clinic locations in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven areas, mostly consulting from Medical Centres and local Gyms. Our aim is to work collaboratively with your healthcare team to help you achieve your health and rehabilitation goals.

Our team is also available to perform home visits, complete your sessions outdoors, or meet you at your own gym (with approval from the facility).

Claire Carson is on occupational therapist who has lived and worked in the Shoalhaven for most of her life. Claire started her business in 2020 when she saw the need for locally owned and operated occupational therapy services. She has experience in a range of clinical caseloads, including NDIS, aged care, mental health and rehabilitation. She is passionate about research and has published abstracts in the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal.

She has also presented at a range of national and international conferences, including the World Occupational Therapy Conference and the Australian Occupational Therapy Conference. Claire is a member of the Shoalhaven Allied Health Network, Occupational Therapy Australia and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
